Hello and thank you for looking me up! My name is Emma Arblaster. I’m a professional, accredited Life Coach and launched Zest4Life Coaching in March 2010, offering 1 to 1 Personal Life Coaching, either face to face or specifically working by phone or via Skype. I have a Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching (Distinction) from The Coaching Academy, Europe’s market leader in coach training and am undertaking continual professional development (including an NLP Practitioner’s Course) to ensure I offer my clients the highest quality coaching service.

My professional background is within healthcare. I have over 12 years experience working as a State Registered Occupational Therapist within the NHS, covering both physical and mental health, inpatient and community. In addition to my clinical and managerial roles, I was closely involved in the training and supervision of students and staff, in which I was already using coaching skills although I was unaware of it at the time!  Additionally, I have an Honours Degree in Psychology.

Reading the above, I think you’ll understand that I see myself as a “people person” and the links between Life Coaching and Occupational Therapy are, I believe, remarkable. Both professions work holistically with a client, assessing where they “are at” and where they want “to be”. Both use goal setting skills, facilitating learning and the coach or OT provides their client with support, motivation, encouragement and feedback. For both professions, a genuine love of people, ability to build great rapport and a wish to help a client fulfil their chosen goals is essential. I can never tire of working directly with people and have professionally worked with such a wonderfully diverse range of clients, ageing from 18 to 100 years! What a privilege!

On a personal note, I am married with 2 young daughters who spur me onwards and upwards. They are my 2 little crusaders, pointing out wherever we go anything turquoise – my trademark colour!
